I’ve been making cashew cream for approximately four years. I absolutely love it! It is so versatile in the dairy free diet! I have used it as a sour cream, cream cheese and dip.


Raw Cashew Cream (Paleo/ Vegan/ Dairy Free)

1 c. raw cashews

4 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. sea salt
1/3-1/2 c. water(to desired texture)

Soak  raw cashews in 2 cups of water for at least two hours
Strain nuts, then rinse them.
Add nuts to food processor or blender. Add remaining ingredients.Puree until smooth. Good used as in place of sour cream, cheese or veggie dip.
Good in refrigerator for about three days.

  1. My husband has a cashew allergy and I have both a dairy and gluten allergy. Can you suggest an alternative nut to use for the cashew cream?

    • Sorry, no. I will be publishing my coconut cream dip soon. You could give that a try.

    • Sorry,I used to use an herbed sea salt that had little bits of onion and garlic in them. Now I just use sea salt. I have updated the recipe.
